What is HERS Certification Training?

This course will prepare you to test and certify homes to meet Energy Star™ specifications, and conduct energy audits and inspections. At the conclusion of this 40 hour course, you will be eligible to receive a HERS Certification in accordance with the RESNET requirements. Training will include:

¤ Building science principles and residential energy use.
¤ Hands-on training using diagnostic tools, including the blower door and Duct Blaster™ equipment.
¤ Training to conduct a comprehensive diagnostic analysis of a home.
¤ Instruction on certifying a home for the EPA Energy Star homes program.
¤ Basic instruction using the REM/Rate™ software to evaluate the energy efficiency of a home.
¤ Introduction to using infra-red thermography for evaluating energy efficiency.

Rater training classes are held in our Waxahachie, TX training facility located just south of the Dallas/ Fort Worth, TX metropolitan area.
